Trump endorses a wanted man: The blood-soaked reality behind the Netanyahu 'total endorsement'

Published • By Naeemofficial782

Donald Trump didn't just endorse Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday. He handed a blank check to a man who is, at this very moment, an international fugitive from justice, a defendant in an ongoing bribery trial, and the architect of a humanitarian catastrophe that has left Gaza in ruins.

In a rambling Truth Social post, Trump gave his "Complete and Total Endorsement" to Netanyahu ahead of Israel's October 27 elections. He called him a "Great Warrior Prime Minister" and warned Israeli voters that if they elect "anyone other than Bibi," America might not "finish the job" against Iran.

It was a stunning, openly transactional threat wrapped in the language of alliance. But let’s be clear about exactly who Trump is endorsing.

The International Criminal Court

In November 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his former defense minister, Yoav Gallant. The charges: war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The court found "reasonable grounds" to believe Netanyahu intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population of Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival. The ICC specifically cited the use of starvation as a method of warfare.

Because of this warrant, Netanyahu is legally required to be arrested if he sets foot in any of the 125 countries that are party to the ICC. Trump's endorsement does not mention the warrant. It does not mention the starvation. It does not mention the dead.

The World Court

Separately, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) is hearing a case brought by South Africa accusing Israel of violating the Genocide Convention. The court has issued three sets of binding provisional measures ordering Israel to prevent acts of genocide, punish incitement, and allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.

South Africa has submitted dossiers arguing that Israel is blatantly ignoring those orders. Meanwhile, according to Palestinian health authorities, more than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023—the vast majority women and children. Roughly 90% of Gaza's infrastructure has been reduced to rubble.

This isn't policy. This is a body count. And Trump just gave it a full-throated endorsement.

The Corruption Trial

While Trump praises Netanyahu's "strength" and "brilliance," the Israeli Prime Minister spends multiple days a week in a Jerusalem courtroom. He is standing trial on charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust in three separate cases.

  • Case 1000: Allegations that Netanyahu and his family received hundreds of thousands of dollars in luxury gifts from wealthy businessmen in exchange for political favors.
  • Case 2000: Allegations of a quid pro quo with a major newspaper publisher to secure favorable coverage.
  • Case 4000 (Bribery): The most severe charge. Netanyahu is accused of granting regulatory favors worth hundreds of millions of dollars to a telecom mogul in exchange for positive press coverage on a widely read news site.

He denies all charges, but the trial is ongoing and is expected to stretch into 2027 or 2028. Trump's "total endorsement" conveniently leaves out the fact that he is backing a leader fighting for his political and literal freedom.

The Extortion of a Democracy

Perhaps the most brutal part of Trump's post is the implicit threat to the Israeli electorate. Polls show the race is deadlocked. Netanyahu's coalition is tied with the opposition bloc at 51 seats each—both well short of the 61 needed for a majority.

By stating that if Israel elects "the wrong Leader... America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so," Trump is effectively telling Israeli voters: Vote for the indicted guy, or we will abandon you to Iran.

"Bibi Netanyahu has been Strong, Brave, and Brilliant in the face of tremendous opposition... BIBI NETANYAHU WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!"

It is a grotesque distortion of reality. The only thing Netanyahu hasn't let down is his own political survival. The hostages are still in tunnels, the economy is battered, the reservists are exhausted, and the country is more isolated internationally than at any point in its history.

A Match Made in the Shadows

Trump and Netanyahu share more than just politics. They share a profound contempt for the international legal system that threatens to hold them both accountable. Trump, who himself faced multiple federal indictments, has long attacked the ICC and the ICJ. Netanyahu is actively relying on Trump's America to shield him from the same courts.

In his post, Trump told the "Great People of Israel" that he is giving them his total endorsement. But he isn't endorsing a path to peace. He isn't endorsing security. He is endorsing a war criminal with an arrest warrant and a bribery trial.

The fact that the United States is now tethered to a leader actively wanted by the World Court is not a diplomatic triumph. It is a tragedy. And the people of Israel, and the people of Gaza, are the ones who will pay the price for it.
